On the vaporetto, we were pulled over to allow Venetian Gondoliers' to protest on the Grand Canal. There were so many protesters that boats passed by for twenty minutes straight. That doesn't happen every day!

I assure you that with roads like these, I was worried we'd never make it to Venice. Zipping down one-way-sized icy roads, on the verge of falling down mountains, having to honk at every turn to avoid collisions/deer...quite a thrill.
